Cristallago
- The Project
The “Cristallago”
project site has previously been the subject of ongoing
environmental, technical and planning review since the
first applications were submitted for development back
in 1983. This project application, named Cristallago,
is the rebirth of two separate and previously approved
development plans. The northern 450 acre portion of the
site was formerly known as the “Las Fuentes”
housing and golf course development. Las Fuentes had an
approved General Plan of Development until 1989. Las Fuentes
was approved for 574 single-family residences, 200 timeshare
units, an 18 hole golf course, and a 100 room motel. The
property’s PD zoning designation remained in place
until the adoption of the North Lakeport Area Plan in
2000. The “Black Rock Ridge Golf Course”,
in the southern 400 acre portion of the site, was approved
in January 1997 and construction began on the course in
2000. Neither of these projects ultimately came to fruition
as a result of market timing, lack of adequate financing
and various other reasons. Cristallago represents the
revival of two failed projects into one far more economically
viable development proposal. |
